Monday 5/9 Plans plus IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I hope you’ve had a great one, regardless of if you worked or not.
Firstly, I have been working on this schedule in between tasks all day to try and get it finished. I apologize for the delay in your most accurate schedule. I will always try to do my best to have the schedule ready for you every week by Friday. This is when I get the schedule for delivery shipments, or I would try to do it sooner. I’m working on getting everyone set in their regular schedules as we get past the Mother’s Day craze. Thank you for understanding and for your patience.
As a whole, I’m very proud of everyone for the work done this past week. Everyone really came through and many of you went above and beyond to help. Even if I didn’t have the chance to directly say Thank you, here it is. We were the first team of my bosses supervisors to have all backstock out at every store on Saturday, and before noon, which is the corporate set GOAL. So great job floral team and all assisting garden members. We’ve seen great sell thru and I hope to walk into Monday to empty floral departments for our floral restock!!
I’ll get into the floral restock in a moment. The next thing I need to mention is the corporate visit we have coming up this week. I do not yet have a full CONFIRMED SCHEDULED DATE of when the visit will be, but if/when it’s scheduled, we would be meeting with Owners and high level corporate members. This means that we absolutely need to be at our very best. If you do not have a Masterpiece shirt, I need you to reach out to me. I would like as many people in their Masterpiece gear on these scheduled days. We will also need to prioritize product CARE. This means watering and pruning and location is our MAIN concern. Not only do we want it to be displayed to perfection, but we have to make sure it all looks and feels it’s absolute best. Remember, no earbuds is a company policy.* I need everyone to give me 100% this week. I may also swap a couple of people’s schedules around if I need you in on a scheduled corporate day. (Obviously this will be a request, not a demand).
Okay, down to the important stuff.
Floral-
In floral on Monday, we will be doing our floral restock after (hopefully) Mother’s Day sell out and cleaning up from the Mother’s Day displays. If the store has not already broken down everything, you need to get your items off remaining displays, clean up signage, and condense back into the department. Toss should hopefully be low, but not nonexistent. If you have remaining product that is still good but has a Mother’s Day stick in it, just remove the stick and sell as is. Make sure to check for price differences if you put it with other product. Once I get into a store in the morning, I’ll be able to give better directions on what may or may toss be needed as toss. FLORAL MERCHANDISERS —— I would like a WIDESHOT PICTURE OF YOUR EMPTY DEPARTMENT before you start working for the day. PLEASE don’t make me sad and forget this. I want to experience this at every store and I will be at Canal Winchester. Help me.
This is your chance to CLEAN the department easily. Please take the time to clean off each table, do a baby oil rub if available (reynoldsburg and canal do not apply to this- use a little bit of soapy water and your provided sponge.) Sweep UNDER the tables. I know these corporate people will be checking that stuff. And organize by type! Prioritize new or seasonal items (currently just blooming product - daisys, etc) to the front and then backfill with your foliage. Make sure orchids get their prime location in the front. Speaking of orchids, any remaining orchids need to be removed from their plastic and moved back to a front table. I’ve sent ASN.
Pallet amount -
Grove City 2 pallets
Canal Winchester 3 pallets
Lancaster 2 pallets
Reynoldsburg 3 pallets
Gahanna 3 pallets
** Please note that some of the large trees listed on your ASN may come in with your Thursday delivery due to limitations on space.
Garden - In garden we need to clean up from the weekend. Work your way from display to display, prune and condense as you go. We need to be reorganizing and making sure to prioritize our planograms as much as possible and putting our best and most expensive product towards the front (whenever shade/sun applies of course). We also need to be doing real CLEANING. So as said from yesterday’s post - if you have wooden tables, take the items off, wipe the dirt off the table, and sweep up the dirt. Clean up fallen flowers, dirt, or other debris. As much as some Meijer’s are helpful, not all are and some stores could use more help. We want our garden center’s to look their absolute best. I am planning to spend a good amount of time in stores doing a full rearranging - this may be irritating at times but it’s part of the job. Please be patient with me as I try to get the stores to perfection for the corporate visit.
Rack counts -
Gahanna 2 racks
Lancaster 6 racks
Reynoldsburg 3 racks
Grove City 6 racks
Canal Winchester 9 racks
Again, thanks for all of the support this week. Have a great rest of your Sunday and see you all soon.
Thanks 😊
