Friday, April 29th daily plans
Happy Friday. Please continue to check this before starting your day. I will make a habit of using this to keep you informed. In return, I hope you can find it useful to field any confusion or provide you some resources.
We are in full swing mothers day prep! Please do your best to stick to schedules and help your fellow teammates by showing up around expected times via schedule. Now is the time where we need to be on our game. We should be creating strong visual displays while using our color blocking, prime location / end cap space for best quality/highest priced product like hanging baskets and patio planters, making sure product is watered well and evenly.
In floral- no floral work should be needed for Friday. Some of you may need to finish tidying up a few things tomorrow. Please make sure to get these into shape first and do it quickly. Nate, the regional, and Cathryn, my manager are both in town in the next two days visiting stores. Stores should have a clear Mother's Day front table theme. Mine have been lavender, African violets, and some hoya heart plants. Also, the azaleas are beautiful. Remember to keep them well watered as they with become droopy and wilt quickly if left to dry out. Take the time to read the floral boxes labels to assist in learning some of these plant names if you haven't already.
What to expect for tomorrow (Saturday) - floral delivery tomorrow. I'll forward ASNs when I recieve. From my current understanding, Canal Winchester and Lancaster are the only two stores that will need coverage for this delivery.
Garden - Nate is in town. Make sure to be professional, no earbuds in, stick to corporate color blocking, and make the garden center look its best. Do NOT leave watering last - this should be first priority. We are bringing out product to tables for Friday. I will include a list of items that should not be brought out of warmer spaces for now, such as hibiscus and ferns. We are also getting a surprise delivery today. All five stores are receiving 4 racks. This has Proven Winner product on it, so the layout of our planograms is going to be more important now. We should be getting these items into their plannogrammed (specific placement) spaces. We have discussed this during training, and a photo of the layout is locationed on the general garden guidelines page.
The items we should avoid bringing outside too fast
-Ferns
-Hibiscus
-Diplodenia
-Mandeville
-all Fancy Filler product
-Dahlias (they can withstand 40/50 weather but prefer 60s so no rush. Can be covered with frost cloth if needed.)
I'd love some cute pictures of your finished garden displays today! Feel free to FaceTime me to show me your displays so I can make any last minute adjustments. I'd love to post them here to share to others when someone has an especially great display.
What to expect tomorrow (Saturday) - another big day. Garden delivery and floral delivery. I am working and will be around. Call me if you need me.
