Thursday 4/28/22 plans

Good evening! Or maybe morning when you read this??

My expectation going forward is for every merchandiser to check this blog everyday before starting their work. If you would like to get to your store, clock in, and then read it over, great. If you want to be more prepared and read it before you get to work, also great. I will do my best to get it updated every day for you before the typical start time. I promise, I will probably be too busy somedays. If you feel unsure about what needs to be done on those days, please do not hesitate to call me.

We are in the busiest two weeks of the year, and we will be stretched thin throughout that time. I will be running around like crazy to keep you prepared for the week and I will start using this platform as a way to keep you informed.

For Thursday, 4/28/2022, we have a lot of news.

Garden -

In Garden we will be recieiving a delivery. Gahanna and Reynoldsburg are getting four racks, Lancaster is getting six racks, and Canal Winchester and Grove City will be getting 8 racks. We need to check the weather for our areas specifically so we can follow our cold protection plans. Many stores will be ready to get product back out onto tables tomorrow, which is doable if we be careful about it. I will attach the cold protection guide down below for you to reference. We need to keep sensitive items in our greenhouses until it is warm enough to come outside. This includes ferns, hibiscus, Mandevilla, Dipladenia, and some others. Pay attention to the names on the tags to help identify items and don't be afraid to text me pictures of items you aren't sure about. Don't forget you can also use your resources if you aren't sure - snapchat, google lens, planta app, are all ways to point and shoot a photo to help if you are unsure and I am not available.

Please reference your garden delivery day checklist to make sure that we get all everything done. We are getting another delivery on Saturday, so should plan to get items into their designated spaces where ever possible.

Floral - Thursday delivieres dropped Wednesday, so everything is already in. (Thank goodness). You will work through your coolers, do your toss and watering as regular, and go through the product that has been sent in. We don't want to hold backstock if we don't have to, but it's a very likely chance that we will have to. Fill your cooler up, and focus your front displays with mothers' day products. Most people have used the Lavender and African Violets as a strong front display theme. Orchids that are recieved today and the rest of the week may stay in the plastic to allow more on a display safely at a time. So please, do not remove the orchid sleeves at this time. Once we have passed mothers day, we will remove the sleeves from any remaining orchids. ASN has been sent but to clarify

Grove City and Lancaster 2 pallets
Gahanna Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester have 3 pallets

If you did not read through the mothers day guide and other information I sent your way - please do so before starting your delivery. Any backstock that is leftover from this delivery must be marked with the date, put in a safe warm space (not in a cooler) and worked out before new product from the next delivery goes out. First in, first out always applies. Please make sure to send me a picture of your backstock, with a brief explanation of what is in it.

Mother's Day is the biggest holiday of the year. This is a serious time. And Nate is heading into town now. Keep your stuff clean, keep your wet floor signs out, and focus on building beautiful displays that will sell. It may seem like a lot, but it will all sell. You will be surprised.
